I’m a 31-year-old lawyer in Charleston, West Virginia who started blogging in May 2004. Born in Seattle and raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia, I escaped to the west coast for law school but ended up back in the Mountain State to start my career. I graduated from Oberlin College in 1999 with a double major in Geology and Environmental Studies.  In 2004 I got my J.D. at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon.

As for my nom de blog, the red refers to my hair and the raging refers to my (sometimes) short temper. It’s also the name of an alter ego I used as a Halloween costume in college once, complete with cape and shield. Don’t ask.

I live in sin with H.K., and we have a tortoiseshell cat named Sophie who followed us home and parked herself outside our door until we finally let her in. I took piano lessons for ten years when I was growing up, but a couple of years ago I decided it might be nice to play a more portable instrument, so I started learning to play guitar.  I now have a mahogany Martin 12-fret triple-aught.
