Don’t forget: DAY ONE of the 2012 Presidential campaign is Wednesday, November 5. I think that’s when Sarah Palin is supposed to throw her bonnet into the ring.
Oh Red, you couldn’t be more correct.
This one’s been rough. I’ve seen more severed friendships and alienated families (including my own) over this one than any other. I thought 2000 was the high-tide of divisive elections, but was I ever wrong.
I’m going to have to beg off Thanksgiving with the folks this year. If Obama wins, I don’t need, “Well, I hope you’re happy. Millions of unborn babies aren’t.” If he loses, the gloating and the “I hope this teaches people like you a lesson,” would be insufferable.
Of course, my right-wing, Limbaugh loving brother took the time to tell me that he doesn’t think I should come to Thanksgiving dinner because “Its religious, and I know how all you ACLU types hate religion.” This after 40 years of reasonably peaceful Thanksgivings in a row.
Thanksgiving is religious? News to me.
