Today’s Oxymoron: Grassroots Talking Points

The McCain campaign is rewarding its supporters with points that are redeemable for John McCain merchandise if they cut & paste talking points in the comments of certain blogs and news sites.  It looks like they plan to update it every day with that day’s talking points.  I checked McCain’s site to see which blogs and web sites they have listed and it turns out West Virginia’s own Lincoln Walks at Midnight (the blog of AP reporter Lawrence Messina) is on the list under “Other.” I can’t wait to see whether he gets any of these kinds of comments.

What kind of stuff can McCain’s supporters get for their points?  I’m not sure, but items from the McCain store include this lovely ice scraper:

(The election is November 4th, so how many of these do they expect to sell?)
