Has anyone else discovered this awesome time-waster yet? A friend alerted me to it (thanks, D!), and I can’t stop Simpsonizing everyone. (The site’s a little slow and sometimes doesn’t work at all due to heavy traffic, so be forewarned.)
I saw The Simpsons Movie last weekend, and it was pretty funny. I do have to agree with a friend of mine who pointed out that there wasn’t enough time devoted to the supporting characters. The movie was mainly focused on the family, and they’re funny, but I do think most of the humor in the show comes from the vast array of quirky Springfieldians. Each of them gets a little screen time, but they kind of feel like cameos, with some exceptions. Personally, I would’ve liked to see more Ralph Wiggum. Of course, it’s got to be hard to fit all of those characters into one movie. It’s easier to do when you’ve got hundreds of episodes to work with. But if you’re a Simpsons fan (even if, like me, you don’t really watch it anymore), I think you’ll enjoy it.
UPDATE: By request, here’s a Simpsonized Don Surber. He looks like he belongs on the show, doesn’t he? The Springfield Shopper totally needs a doofus conservative columnist.

I couldn’t get the official movie-tied Simpsonizer to look like me. They didn’t have a “van dyke” option under facial hair. There’s another flash-script that’s been around for a long time, though, and it produced this.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I feel like I should. I just keep wishing that it was a Futurama movie, instead.
Yeah, that picture only kinda looks like me because of the hair. I tried to add freckles, but it ended up looking like I have an acne problem.
I’ve never really watched Futurama. I guess I’ve seen a couple episodes, but that’s about it. I didn’t dislike it, I guess I just didn’t like it enough to watch it regularly. Really, if you have to be choosy, The Simpsons Movie can definitely be put off until it’s on DVD.
Well, I’ll probably have to go see it just out of boredom, since I’m off work this whole month. There’s not much else out these days that interests me, and I’d feel silly going to see Transformers for a fourth time.
I thoroughly enjoyed Transformers, but only enough to see it once. But just that once was really awesome. If you haven’t seen The Bourne Ultimatum and you’re into that kind of thing, I recommend it. I saw it over the weekend and really liked it, though it did leave me wanting more. But maybe that’s just because I think Matt Damon’s hot.
I never saw the first two Bourne movies, so this one probably wouldn’t make any sense to me. I’m not big into that whole international super-spy-ish suspense genre, anyways. It always seems far too contrived.
I’m actually thinking about seeing Hot Rod, if only for Isla Fisher.
The Simpson-Surb is Great! I can see him as the AntiFlanders living on the other side of the Simpson home and being a frustrated, less successful perv than Quagmire. He and Moe watch porn together.
Exxxxcellent..
