In an odd turn of events, E! reports that Dave Chappelle has checked into a psychiatric treatment center in South Africa. It’s not known exactly what he’s being treated for, and people close to him are denying that it is drug-related. Apparently, according to a recent Newsweek article, Chappelle may have cracked under the pressure of his success.
In my opinion, Chappelle is one of the funniest and most original comics around. I love that his show is completely silly yet very intelligent at the same time. That’s my kind of humor. There’s something about his voice, too, that just makes me crack up no matter what he’s saying. And those little caps that he wears are just so damn cute. Anyway, hopefully he’ll recover from whatever it is that’s going on with him and be back in fighting form soon. Get well, Chappelle!
