Too. Many. Colors. Must. Stop. Obsessing.

Okay, I can’t let this rest. After trying out many different shades of brown/khaki/beige/tan, I think I like the lighter shades, because the black text shows up much better and it is easier to read. However, now I think I’ve chosen too light a shade, because the white text is a bit hard on the eyes. Any opinions? Is the white text awful? I’ll surely be fooling with this all day until I think I’ve gotten it right.

While the colors are giving me fits, I love my new font so much that I think I’m going to marry it. I want to make out with my computer screen. I decided upon Garamond, a very special font indeed. Here’s a funny story for you (if you think stories about fonts are funny) – I was trying out different fonts for the new design, and I was working with my template in MS Word. So I was just doing “find & replace” so I could change the font names throughout the template all in one click. I think I had Verdana before, then I changed it to Times, then I changed it to Garamond. Well, when I did “find & replace” to change all of the “Times” to “Garamond,” I ended up with a tagline that said “somegaramond irascible, always red.” I also had links in the sidebar to “Irregular Garamond” and, yes, “The New York Garamond.” Ah, font humor. Damn, that reminds me that I have a t-shirt (or two) to buy!

P.S. I swear I’ll get back to regularly-scheduled programming soon, as soon as I work this color shit out.
